Technical Animation & Templating
For fifteen years, I’ve worked across video production, motion design, and animation, and for the past five, I’ve focused on building systems that make creative pipelines faster and smarter. My goal is to streamline workflows, remove friction, and help teams deliver more ambitious work at scale without sacrificing craft.
THE 1619 PROJECT
I spent most of 2022 working with the team at Block & Tackle, developing and executing the supporting graphics for the 1619 Project documentary series on Hulu. Collaborating closely with showrunner Shoshana Grey and the team at One Story Up, our team created the visual language for the series and produced all the supporting graphics.
In a leading role, I helped establish a cohesive animation language and built scalable toolkits that allowed Block & Tackle to manage a high volume of complex deliverables efficiently. These systems enabled the team to create dynamic visuals that supported hundreds of narrative elements across six episodes while adapting quickly to evolving creative direction and maintaining a consistent visual identity throughout the series.

TruTV Network Package
The studio Block & Tackle developed a full identity package for TruTv, and my role was to make their vision scalable for ongoing use by the network. I created a comprehensive After Effects toolkit that included lower thirds, title cards, interstitials, and page templates. The toolkit is still in use today, supporting consistent brand execution across TruTv’s content.
Logos Network Social Promos
I was tasked with designing and animating a modular set of assets that could generate hundreds of unique ads quickly. I created an After Effects toolkit featuring 15+ custom animations and transitions, allowing artists to easily swap text and imagery while maintaining a consistent visual style. This system streamlined production and enabled scalable, efficient content creation for the campaign.
Network Promo Packages
At Block & Tackle, I led the development of numerous After Effects toolkits for several networks to support promotional campaigns. Designed for experienced motion artists, these toolkits prioritized flexibility over rigid controls, enabling teams to customize animations while maintaining a consistent visual identity. By building organized, scalable systems and focusing on thoughtful animation design, I helped streamline production workflows, reduce repetitive tasks, and give artists the creative freedom to adapt assets efficiently across a wide range of campaign needs.
The New York Times · Reporter Video
Partnering with The New York Times during the early growth of their Reporter Video initiative, I served as a motion designer, creating supporting visuals for video stories. Recognizing that graphics were often a production bottleneck in this new format, I invested time between stories to help the team respond more quickly to the news cycle. My work focused on developing templates that reduced reliance on bespoke graphics, enabling faster access to commonly reused assets, and exploring new tools and processes that streamlined collaboration with other desks across the Times.
